Tri-Cities Cruise-In - April 9th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On April 9th, The Oldies But Goodies Classic Cruisers opened our season with our first Cruise-in of the Spring. The weather was chilly and very cloudy but we set up and started with our music and greeting of our friends for the year. It is great to be back at Southpark Mall working with KIMCO Realty and Ashley Furniture.

Everything was going great with 40 cars at the Cruise-in and cars continuing to come in and out throughout the evening. Then the weather turned nasty, with a rain squall shutting us down for the evening. We shut down about 30 minutes early due to the rain, but we still had a good turnout.  Thanks to everyone that came out and also thanks to the people who helped us set up and shut down for the evening.

Tri-Cities Cruise-In - April 23rd at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On April 23rd, The OBGCC had its 1st Cruise in with NO RAIN! We had about 75 cars at the Cruise for a great Saturday Night of fun, music and fellowship. It is great to see all of our friends again for 2011. Special thanks go out to all who help us through out the year.

Tri-Cities Cruise-In - April 30th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On April 30th, our club had it’s cruise-in at Southpark Mall.  We had a very good crowd of people that came out this weekend. It is great to see all the cars and more and more motorcycles that are coming out. The parking lot here at Ashley Furniture is a great place to be on Saturday nights and the atmosphere is great.

Tri-Cities Cruise-In - May 7th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On May 7th,  the Oldies But Goodies had another beautiful weekend for a cruise in. We had 75 cars at our cruise in this weekend with great weather and a fantastic bunch of people out there this Saturday. We are only showing 30 cars in the pictures, but we still thank everyone for coming out to South Park Mall. With all the kids and visitors coming from everywhere it is great to see our cruise in doing so well. Please enjoy the pictures of our May 7th cruise in. May 21st
Tri-Cities Cruise-In - May 21st at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On May 21st,  our club had another fantastic night for a cruise-in. We started with a bright and sunny afternoon and the cars started coming in. By the end of the night, we stuffed over 75 car into our cruise-in at Southpark Mall. The night continued with the fun as the 50/50 went off really well and the evening cooled down into a great night time get together.
Southpark Mall is proving once again to be the cruise-in spot for the Southside Virginia area. Thanks to everyone who came out to the cruise-in and thanks to everyone who helps put the cruise together.

Tri-Cities Cruise-In - May 28th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On May 28th Memorial Day weekend, our cruise-in was just about packed with all the cars and great friends coming out to see all the cars. With rain that threatened in the afternoon it was great to see everyone come out to Southpark Mall for the fun. We had almost 80 cars present. It is very difficult to decide which cars to show and which ones not to show. We are very proud of all of our support from all the people at the Southside Cruise–in at Southpark Mall, sponsored by THE OLDIES BUT GOODIES CLASSIC CRUISERS.

June 4th proved to be another great day for a cruise-in, here at the Southside Cruise-In at Southpark Mall. The Oldies But Goodies puts on one of the best cruise-ins around the Southside Virginia area. We are getting cars and friends from all over the central Virginia area. We are trying a little something new, now. We have a For Sale Board, at the sound trailer. If you want to sell “car related” items, talk to one of the Oldies But Goodies members and they can help you out. On June 11, once again we fought off the rain and thunderstorms for a couple of hours with our cruise-in pulling in about 35 cars on this weekend. The rains came in about 7 pm and we had to pack up early again. Tri-Cities Cruise-In - June 25th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On June the 25th we had a fantastic crowd at the Tri-Cities Cruise-in at Southpark Mall sponsored by the Oldies But Goodies Classic Cruisers. With over 100 cars coming through the area from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm, we had a great bunch of people that had come out to enjoy the weather and cars. We had such a great amount of cars that we decided to have “2” Pick of the Weeks for June 25th. Johnny and Mary Harris and  their 1968 Camaro SS and Frank “Gator” Harrison with his1964 Pontiac Lamans, both cars were picked and we have decided to show these cars and the cruise-in. July 2nd
Tri-Cities Cruise-In - July 2nd at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On July 2nd we had around 50 friends and cars come out for our cruise-in at Southpark Mall. With the racing going on at Daytona Beach Florida and the weather being extremely hot, it was really nice to see all of our guests come out and spend part of their July 4th weekend with the Oldies But Goodies Classic Cruisers. Thanks goes out to all that came out to our cruise-in. We really appreciate all the support that is being given to our organization.

On July 9th, our cruise-in had another good night with the lot filling as the night went on. This week we had a large amount of Mustangs that had come in for everyone to see. It is great to see all the different types of cars coming in as we have all of our regular friends that come out to visit with us.

On July 16th,  we were having another cruise-in. We really enjoy seeing everyone out spending time with our club and supporting all that we try to do for the Kids in the area. The Boys and Girls Club Hopewell Branch really appreciate our help in everything that we do. If it wasn’t for our supporters, we couldn’t do this.

Tri-Cities Cruise-In - July 30th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On July 30th, we had another cruise-in at Southpark Mall. With the temperatures being around 100 degrees at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, we were concerned if anyone would show up for our cruise-in. Around 6:30pm,  people started bringing their cars out after it started cooling off a bit. By the end of the night, we had a pretty good bunch of cars out at Southpark Mall at Ashley Furniture. It really says a lot for the caliber of people that show up for our cruise-ins. Thanks to all that support us in our charity fund raising.

August 6th

On August 6th, we started a new month of our cruise-ins at Southpark Mall. The weather has finally given us a break with the heat and humidity down to a comfortable level. We had about 60 cars out that night with everything from an old 30 model race car to a brand new Chrysler with 9 TVs in it! A very unusual thing to see! We have a very good time at The Oldies But Goodies Classic Cruisers Tri-Cities Cruise-in.

Tri-Cities Cruise-In - August 20th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On August 20th, we had over 80 cars at our Cruise-in. Our cruise-in improves by the day. Now that the weather is getting cooler in the evenings we will really start to pack the parking lot. Thanks to all those that support our Cruise- ins. It really makes for a fun evening.

On September 3rd, The Oldies But Goodies had another good cruise-in. We had a good crowd in for the evening and it was great to see all the friends come out. The weather was really nice at the Tri-Cities Cruise-in especially after the week that  everyone had, with Hurricane Irene coming through the past weekend.

On September 10th, The OBGCC had another great night for a cruise-in. We had a lot of people come out and enjoy the evening with us. The cruise-in seems to be coming along nicely with the fall weather coming in very soon. This week we had an unusual combination for our pick of the week. Bill and Marion Thompson brought in their 1951 Ford and a 1965 Shasta Camper. What a combo! Way to go guys; this is our September 10th pick of the week.

October 1st
Tri-Cities Cruise-In - October 1st at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On October 1st, our club finally had another cruise-in. With the weather playing a big part in our cruise-in on Saturday night, it finally turned out nice again. We had a large bunch of people at our cruise-in as well as a cool night to show that fall is on its way. In appreciation of our friends and all the cars that come out to our events, we have decided to carry our cruise-ins through October 15th. So the cruise-in at Southpark Mall will go on through October 15th. Hopefully the weather will co-operate with us. We really enjoy the crowds that come out to the cruise-in for the Boys and Girls Club of Hopewell.

The Pick of the week is dated for September 17th because of the weather postponed dates.  Enjoy the pictures.

October 15th
Tri-Cities Cruise-In - October 15th at Southpark Mall, Colonial Heights

On October 15th, The Oldies But Goodies had their last Cruise-in of 2011. With the parking lot at Southpark Mall Filled with cars from our friends, the Car Club realizes that without your cars and friendship, we can't do our Cruise-ins or Charitable work. Special thanks goes out to Southpark Mall and especially KIMCO Realty. Without KIMCO we can not do any of this. Please enjoy the pictures of our Cruise-in and also so remember thanks to all of you.

We would also like to say that we will be back in 2012 at the parking lot here at Southpark Mall. We will start again in April 2012.
